bye bye yahoo

for those of you that do not know, yesterday was my last day at yahoo after 7 years. sorry if I didn't email you or IM you - there's really not a perfect way to leave a company that has been a core part of your life for 7 years. you just kind of do it.

thinking about the whole experience, i have to say that the best analogy for how I feel now is like graduating from college. i made amazing friends and i learned a ton, but it is really just time for me to move on. i need to move out of the comfort zone and be over my head again - just like I was when I joined yahoo in 99.

i was extremely lucky at yahoo. i got to work with two amazing teams, and therefore two amazing products. 4 years on messenger, 3 years in music. each team with a different set of personalities that made it unique. each team with about 500 crazy stories. after 7 years, i have to say that it is these people that make yahoo truly great.

now I'm onto something new. in a field that is still up for grabs. we'll see what happens, but I know that I'm going to be well prepared b/c of my peeps that I worked with.
